SEPIOLITE, CLEANING SUPPORT
Argillaceous mineral of the Sepiolite-Paligorskite family. Chemically it is hydrated magnesium silicate. Structurally series of chains consists of one alternated thin crystal parallels to free narrow channels along fibers. Huge absorbent abilities possess therefore one and, contrarily to the clay smettiche (bentolite), it can absorb water without to swell. The sepiolite ones has one specific surface of approximately 340 sq/g (BET) correspondent in great part to the microporosity of its structure (17%) with pori from 16 to 20 Anstrong of medium diameter.
